Location Building Insights

Island Colony is a very well-known condotel (both a condo and hotel) in Waikiki, due to its location and price point. Of its 700+ units, about 150 units are in the hotel pool; the remainder are either owner-occupied, rented or used as vacation rentals. ​Owners who self-manage can only do rentals of 30 days or longer. About 96 of the rooms are managed by Aqua, under the brand “Aqua Skyline.” ​​The 44-story building has​​​ panoramic views of Waikiki's skyline, Diamond Head and the Pacific Ocean.

Located right in the middle of Waikiki, along the Ala Wai Canal, next to busy Ala Wai Blvd.  These are Vacation rental/condotel units (Aqua-managed vacation rentals/Hawaiiana-managed property​) with Studio and one-bedroom units.   Island Colony is popular with investors.

In 2013 it was the 2nd most sold condo on Oahu, with 55 total sales.

​Built in 1979, the Island Colony ​is a 44-story condotel located along the Ala Wai Canal, on the mauka (mountain) side of Waikiki. The majority of units are fee simple, but a handful of leasehold units remain (most with fee available for purchase). ​

Developed by Haseko Hawaii, a Japan-based real estate developer with a long history of projects in Hawaii. ​​Haseko Hawaii completed its first project in Hawaii in 1973, and its portfolio incudes Ka Makana at Hoakalei, ​Ocean Pointe, the Courtyards at Punahou, Liliuokalani Gardens, Kona by the Sea, Pacific Monarch, 444 Nahua, ​in addition to other projects on the Big Island, Kauai, and Maui.
