Meet Ruth Simmons: A Promise of Service
Ruth Simmons was born in Honolulu and raised in Southern California and Florida.
Desiring a change, Ruth entered the United States Navy, where she would go on to spend 20 years combatting terrorism as an intelligence professional. She deployed multiple times in support of the Joint Special Operations Task Force Philippines, providing intelligence and linguistics support to Naval Special Warfare operators, Army Special Forces, and Marine maneuver elements. She was the recipient of multiple awards for her distinguished service.
Having spent the majority of her non-deployed career on Oahu, Ruth became very familiar with Oahu's dynamic real estate market, purchasing, renovating, and selling multiple properties. Deciding that she needed to turn her personal passion into a professional career, she retired from the service and joined the dedicated team of professionals at Locations.
Fostering a commitment to excellence and professionalism, Ruth provides an inexhaustible level of care and support, ensuring her clients realize their dreams.
Ruth holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Environmental and Interior Design from Chaminade University of Honolulu and maintains affiliation with the International Interior Design Association and the American Society of Interior Designers.
Engaged in the community, Ruth is an active member of the Locations Foundation, serves as a volunteer for the Battleship Missouri Division of the U.S. Naval Sea Cadet Corps, and is a bridge member of the Honolulu Council of the Navy League.
She enjoys spending time with her husband Kevin and son Kevin Jr. renovating homes, volunteering in the community, attending sporting events, and traveling.
