Low inventory has been a driver of rising median prices on Oahu for years, but in August 2018 buyers are finally starting to see some relief--if they know where to look.

As median home prices continue to rise, more sellers are beginning to test the waters. Active listings for both single-family homes and condos are at their highest levels since March 2012 and November 2011, respectively.

“We’ve seen welcome growth in single-family home and condo inventory in the second quarter of 2018,” said Scott Higashi, president and CEO of Locations. “With more inventory to choose from, competition among prospective homeowners has eased slightly—as noted by a dip in bid-ups of 15 percent and nine percent, respectively.”
