Homeowners across Hawaii rejoice!  Nobody has it better than you when it comes to propety taxes.  Realtor Mag just published an article that listed property taxes for all 50 states and Hawaii was at the very bottom (in a good way).  Illinois is the highest with 2.67% and the median across the nation is 1.31%.  Hawaii is the lowest with 0.31% followed by South Dakota at 0.38% then Alabama at 0.54%.

I pulled a complete 180* (weather wise) when I moved to tropical Hawaii from freezing Canada in March of 1996 with my 3 kids (1, 3 and 4 years old).  Like most parents, to ensure my kids don't spend too much time watching TV or playing with computers and video games, I spent a lot of time with them at the beach.
